The Ipswich Jets Continue to Evolve in 2022

Tuesday 14th Sep 2021, 11:28 AM

Further to the Clubs announcement last month about recruiting for a Head of Football, the Savige Pest Control Ipswich Jets, have made the decision to further embed that role and subsequent shaping of our future, by combining it with the role of Head Coach for our Intrust Super Cup.

Therefore, this Head of Football, who will oversee the day to day running of the Football department in 2022 and beyond, and pathways in and out of the club, will now also be leading this from the front and coaching our senior side. Subsequently, the role of Head Coach of our ISC side which has been part-time for many years, will cease to continue. Due to the demands that we have as a club and the upcoming pressure on the football department across a variety of sectors, it was deemed unrealistic to expect anyone to complete this in a part-time capacity moving forward.

This position will work very closely with the High-Performance Manager and be further supported by our other support staff including Assistant coaches, physios, trainers, volunteers, and team managers, as well as our other Head and Assistant Coaches of the other grades of Football, that look after our elite players, as well as breed the talent for future years.

Ipswich Jets CEO Richard Hughes stated: “The decision to change this position to also encompass our Head Coach of our ISC side was, as a club, a necessary decision to make. In one sense this will streamline delivery and give the opportunity to focus on the whole football program, but it will also allow someone to really see the outcome of, and be invested in, those decisions, in real time. Furthermore, by travelling around the state in their role as Head Coach, they will get the ability to scout for talent right across Queensland. This opens up a whole new area of opportunity to bring the very best players into our region, to support and excite the kids coming up through our local pathways and to enhance our core group of players”.

All candidates, inside and outside of the club are welcome to apply, with relevant experience as outlined.

Applications will open to the market from Wednesday 15 September.
