The Savige Pest Control Ipswich Jets are delighted to announce that commencing from the 2022 season, we will be fielding a team in the QRL, Harvey Norman U19 Girls competition.
This is a program that was looked after by Rugby League Ipswich for 2021, but with their blessing, these girls will come into our program and Jets family, next year. The Savige Pest Control Ipswich Jets would like to formally acknowledge and thank Rugby League Ipswich for all of their hard work and endeavours to get this up and running and we intend to build on and increase this important area of women’s sport.
This is also the first step in creating pathways for our girls to progress into the BHP Women’s competition, which we intend to enter in 2023. This means, that by 2023, we will have six grades of elite football representing the Jets brand and name; these are exciting times with even more exciting times to come.
Of course, this will add to the elite female athletes we already have in our Netball programs through our Sapphire and Ruby series teams, therefore inspiring the young people in the region, male, and female, across as many types of sport as possible.
Expressions of interest for any players interested in being part of our program will be released shortly and advertised through our website and social media once we have made the relevant coaching appointments.
We are already talking to sponsors to be part of this foundation year for our U19 Harvey Norman Girls, but with strictly limited opportunities, please reach out to me directly if you are interested in being involved. All partners that come on at Foundation level, will be given first opportunity to be involved with our BHP side
in 2023.
This is the first of some major announcements as we approach our 40th year so get onboard and ride this journey with us.
Once a Jet, always a Jet.
