The Ipswich Jets have great delight in confirming Paula Stuart, as their new Sapphire Series Head Coach and Head of their Netball Program for 2023 and 2024.
Paula comes with great pedigree. A skilled and experienced netball coach, she has developed programs and initiatives in grassroots and performance environments and has a thorough understanding of the Australian and International high-performance netball system. Most recently, Paula was the Head Coach of QUT Netball Team in 2021 and 2022 and in both years achieved Grand Final status. She also coached the QUT Wildcats and was winner of the Inaugural Sapphire Series, with a Grand Final win which was the Wildcats first ever grand final win. When QUT confirmed that they would not be continuing as a licence holder in 2023, Paula was looking to maintain a position at this elite level of Netball, and the Jets position became available.
Paula remarked, “As one door closes for 2022 another has opened for next year and I cannot wait to start working with the Ipswich Jets team in 2023. I have been an admirer of the talent in this region for some time, and the system and culture they have developed, and so I cannot wait to continue the work already done and make my mark.”
Ipswich Jets CEO Richard Hughes stated: “The decision to change this position to encompass the lead role in our netball program, has taken us some years to get to. Troye Pollock has led this program to achieve the successes it has, and now, with the increased demands that this brings, it is appropriate for Troye to now support someone in this role.” Richard continued “For us to get someone of Paula’s class, was an opportunity we could not refuse. She is the standout coach in this competition and a person of the highest integrity that we are confident will benefit the girls, the club, and the region. This is an exciting appointment and time for the club.”
Ipswich Jets are now in negotiations with the athletes for 2023 and cannot wait what next season will bring for the Ipswich Jets.
