JET # 533
On Sunday 16 July 2017 against the Tigers Nem will play his 100th game for the Ipswich Jets. He will be the 13th Jet to achieve this milestone.
Nem made his debut round two 2013 against the Sunshine Coast Falcons.
Scoring two tries on debut Nem announced himself to the Queensland league world in the Jets 32-26 win.
IPSWICH JETS 32 (Nemani Valekapa 2, Tu’u Maori, Rowan Winterfield, Sam Martin, Keiron Lander tries; Donald Malone 4 goals) def SUNSHINE COAST SEA EAGLES 26 (Dale Middleton, Tye Ingebrigtsen, Martin Cordwell, Kristian Wanka, James Boyce tries; Jordan Meads 2, Dale Middleton goals) at Stockland Stadium.
“Nem is a pleasure to have around the club. While he is quiet, laidback and humble he is fiercely competitive and determined to win when he gets on the field; everything you could want in a footballer. He is a wonderful family man and is to be congratulated for 100 game for the Jets.”
Jason Cubit Ipswich Jets CEO.
“The Fijian Ferrari – or the quiet assassin has been dominating opposition centres with his footwork, fend and ability for four years. His quiet nature is far from the beast that is Nemani. Tough, strong and just a competitor that always wants to win, and absolute pleasure to play with. Plenty of laughs with this guy, but is a great player and even better person.”
Dane Phillips Ipswich Jets captain.
Nem speaks very little his actions speak for his words, he’s a loving family man, a proud Fijian, a strong person inside & out and a deadly footballer. It’s a blessing to have him play by my side on the football field. Proud to call him a brother. Happy 100th Bula.
