Harmony Day celebrations will be held in Ipswich tomorrow – and fans of the game are encouraged to head out, have some fun and embrace diversity.
Queensland Rugby League has been a long-time supporter of Harmony Day – and once again representatives from the sport will be taking part in the festivities.
NRL Development will set up a special stall in the ‘Sports Zone’ – where everyone can have a go passing the ball and taking part in other fun rugby league activities.
There will also be a heap of prizes – with posters, stickers and other goodies to give away.
Local Intrust Super Cup club the Ipswich Jets will also be attending – with staff from the club on hand to provide some information about their home games and information about rugby league.
The Jets are incredibly active in the community and will host their own Harmony Day celebrations on May 28 to coincide with their Intrust Super Cup match against the PNG Hunters.
The event tomorrow is being coordinated by Access Community Services and is a FREE community event being staged as part of the Australian Government’s Social Inclusion & Diversity Program – One City One People Project.
The event will be held at TAFE Queensland South West – Mary Street & River Road, Bundamba and will showcase Ipswich City’s multiculturalism and diversity through a wide range of performance arts, workshops, food and of course, sports.
Events will run from 10.30am to 2.30pm so make sure you head out and take part.
